We sent the PLCs back to Controllino GmbH and it was confirmed that they are faulty.

After 6 weeks they came back repaired and tested.

Whoever has this issues should contact them for possible replacement.

    More information:

Previous batches of Controllino Maxi Automation PURE 100-101-10 had no issues.

Once the functioning versions were connected by USB under Linux it showed:

    dmesg:

    usb 2-2: Manufacturer: Arduino (www.arduino.cc)
    usb 2-2: SerialNumber: 85035303038351419261
    cdc_acm 2-2:1.0: ttyACM0: USB ACM device

    lsusb:

Bus 002 Device 013: ID 2341:0042 Arduino SA Mega 2560 R3 (CDC ACM)

However, with the newest batch with the exact same version number (Maxi Automation PURE 100-101-10) we get the following:

    dmesg:

    usb 2-2: New USB device found, idVendor=03eb, idProduct=2fef, bcdDevice= 0.00
    usb 2-2: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0
    usb 2-2: Product: ATmega16u2 DFU
    usb 2-2: Manufacturer: ATMEL

    lsusb:

Bus 002 Device 014: ID 03eb:2fef Atmel Corp. atmega16u2 DFU bootloader

We cannot upload sketches in the IDE and there the port is not offered.

Windows has similar issues and atmega16u2 shows in device manager but cannot install driver.

    Hi Pedro,

thank you very much for this quick response. We found this article yesterday too.

However, we did not find a way to put the Controllinos in DFU mode.

<div>We need to short some pins on Arduinos, but where do we find them on Controllinos.
    </div><div>

I am also surprised that such things is necessary for the “industry ready” arduinos, in particular, once they are already installed in cabinets.

    </div>

    Best regards,

    Valentin
