Hello, I have checked the datasheet of the Elegoo Arduino 2.8” TFT Touch Screen and your pinout and I do not see any reason why it should not work. Maybe you can share with us a photo of your setup?
Thanks,
Lukas

Hello Lukas, Thank you for looking into this.
Here are some pictures of the set up:

Hello zal, thank you for the photos. You have really nice screw terminals for the flat cables
Again – I have checked your setup and do not see any obvious reason why it should not work.
Do you have any idea how fast is the communication with the display?
Please note that there are some protection serial resistors on the pin header lines which may slow down edges of the very fast signals. Do you have any chance to check it with oscilloscope?
Even that according the datasheet the display should take max 120 mA, mabybe the 5V at the pinheader is overloaded – please, try to supply it externally – at least as part of the investigation.
Thanks,
Lukas

Hello Lukas, Thank you for helping with this.
I tried using a separate 5V supply for the screen, but the result was the same (the screen lit up white and the output to the serial monitor looked normal, but no test patterns were displayed). I don’t have an oscilloscope and have no idea how fast the communication is with the display. I have been using Cayenne to plot and save the data online, which seems to work well and takes the place of the screen and SD card for now.
Do you happen to know of a screen and SD card you have used with the Controllino in the past that has worked?
Thank you!
Zoe
